Cold Desert Rat Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 Greetings, The site has been tremendously useful to me. I figured it was high time I joined. I bought the scura from eurosports LV. My V7 needed a big sister. Thanks to all the unnamed heroes who have helped me without knowing it. Motorcyclists are the best folks in the world and Guzzista are the best of those. 10
Scud Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 Welcome and congratulations. May as well post up in the Scura registry too. 1
docc Posted January 27, 2022 Posted January 27, 2022 "Cold Desert Rat" sounds like a menu item on an Oregon food truck out past Deschutes toward Burns . . . Just kidding, buddy. Welcome to you and your Scura. There is whole nest of darkness here (Scura-types) to keep you company. 1 1
R.I.P. Mikko Posted January 27, 2022 Posted January 27, 2022 Welcome my sonWelcome to the machineWhere have you been? It's alright we know where you've been 2 1
Cold Desert Rat Posted January 27, 2022 Author Posted January 27, 2022 Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm cold because I retired to Hoth the ice planet from So. CA. And I could not be happier The aluminum flywheel looks perfect. Rings like a bell if that means anything. I'm having difficulty attaching pictures but I will post them when I can. Ah, max size 200kb. Be right back. 1
Cold Desert Rat Posted January 28, 2022 Author Posted January 28, 2022 I won't trust it, on the wall it goes 3
Scud Posted January 28, 2022 Posted January 28, 2022 So you bought a Scura, brought it home and ripped out the flywheel? Next you'll be replacing the springs and stripping the crinkle paint from the engine, transmission and rear drive. This is the rite of passage for Scura owners. What flywheel and clutch will you install? 1
Cold Desert Rat Posted January 28, 2022 Author Posted January 28, 2022 Scud, You forgot Roper tray, reaction rod bushings and about a hundred others. Clutch: I bought a steel assy on ebay, pretty darn good ring gear, and sent it off to Guzzi Power in Torrance to be lightened and balanced. Here it is, still bolted together as he return shipped it. But now I want to stay with a single plate assy. All I can say is I changed my little mind. So I would sell the steel assy for what it cost to machine it. I ask you, Scud, what clutch do you and the brain trust recommend? Also, how do I purchase the new improved gearbox springs? It's on the list Thank you! cdr
Cold Desert Rat Posted January 28, 2022 Author Posted January 28, 2022 Other side. It's light fer shure
Cold Desert Rat Posted January 28, 2022 Author Posted January 28, 2022 DOH! My apologies for the wasted bandwidth. 1
R.I.P. Mikko Posted January 28, 2022 Posted January 28, 2022 Running the Scura with the single plate vs the Centauro I don’t feel much of a difference in quick revving or even engine braking. Some of these single plates had issues… Can’t you send that to Ed and have him check it out to make sure it’s okay?
