BrianG Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 I cannot find any reference to this question anywhere here, so simply, do the V11 series utilize a Canbus control system for fueling or any other onboard system?
docc Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 AFAIK, and if I understand CANBUS at all, there is none on the V11. Only the ECU/ "CPU" and various sensors. Smarter people than I will be along that can speak that language more fluently . . .
docc Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Are you looking for trouble or an opportunity? (I grew up thinking that was the same thing . . . 2
BrianG Posted May 25, 2022 Author Posted May 25, 2022 I'm looking to avoid trouble . Canbus makes me crazy in my 2004 Thunderbird, and I'm not interested in reproducing that trouble on a motorcycle.

I think you are in luck with the V11 - there is only the Central Processing Unit ("ECU").
Chuck Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 No. If you want can bus you have to get a Break My Wallet. 1

Chuck Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Back in the day, a SoCal Beemer mechanic I knew decided to put on some aftermarket lights. I'm not sure if he ever got it going again.. 1
docc Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 As bad as electro-f'ck-icity can be, electro-f'ck-onics are otherworldly . . . We might need a T-bird thread . . .

No canbus on a v11 Sport. It's basic old tech electronics. Ciao 2
gstallons Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 There is nothing hi-tech about a MG electrical system . This reminds me of a story concerning a VERY old garage in Wickliffe run by two very old mechanics . A buddy of mine said " the only thing hi-tech about Dreamy Haynes was an 8 volt battery ". 1
