New Clip-Ons

FWIW i installed a pair of Two Brothers Racing Clip On's the other

day...

Initially I had the clip-ons on TOP (like the OEM bars) but the

OEM brake lines are too short.

I installed the TBR Bars under the top clamp and they fit fine...

you would be get the MOST (adjustment) if they were mounted on

ON TOP of the top most triple clamp.

I will be ordering new (longer) sep. / individual brake lines so that

i can move the bars to the top.

every thing fits very nicely & the build quality is 1st Class !

Great

Mike Stewart has them on his V11 Sport, and Dave Gross on his LeMans, and I think they've been happy with them. If you have any additional questions, you should drop them a note B)

I think a couple more may be "out there" as well, although I don't think anyone has mounted them above the triples AFAIK, especially with a LeMans, where fairing clearances are an issue.

and....

the thing I like the most is that they're pretty adjustible..can be swung 'outward', as well as tilted up or down. I tweak them once in a while, and have finally found a position I like.

and, I love the color. matches my bike ;)

Thanks Dave!

Ahh, so you were able to mount them above the triples... eeeenteresting ^_^ I didn't realize that.

...did you have to drop the triples a bit to do so? It seems like there isn't enough of the fork crown normally protruding above the triples as delivered stock otherwise :huh2: ...or maybe it's just an optical illusion ^_^

Another interesting observation is that you must have a later model 2002, as your controls are the late 2002/2003 variants. I picked up a set of 2003 switchgear on eBay a month ago, and the right hand switches will swap out evenly with no modification, but the left uses a different harness I believe. It will plug-in, but it looks like the wires are all rearranged in the connector

Just something "good to know" in case you ever need new controls/switchgear.

I didn't know there were different models in '02 :)

From what I recall, Jason at Moto I did mention something about dropping the triples down a slight bit to get the TB brackets to fit.

I can't imagine that it would have been enough to effect the handling/performance of the bike tho.

oh..fyi...I got me Michelin Pilot Roads on this weekend. NICE difference.

Doesn't dive into the corners as much. They feel a little harder, but I'm sure then need to be broken in :)

you are correct the top clamp needs to be dropped...but not

much over what the OE clip-ons require...i measured about 5mm

diff (more drop).

where can i order the proper length brake & clutch lines ? (or

do you know the "measured/length")

w/ the TBR clip-ons theres not a TON of reason/gain when theyre

mounted UNDER the top clamp...certainly theres more adjustment

than stock but height is about the same as stock (w/ a 2.5inch riser)

you may want to call Aaron at Moto International and ask him to ask Jason what he did regarding my cables. I need to take one more photo of the front brake line for ya'll tonight. I know he changed that out as well.

Dave could you do us a favor ??? take some string and measure

from each brake caliper (following/tracing along the brakeline) up

to the brake master cylinder....

they brake lines wont be the same length so it would be critical to

measure each line...

then would you be so kind to share the length of each line w/ me :D PLEASE...

I too would like to know the length of the clutch, and both front brake lines when adding risers.

I was given a set of risers, similar in execution to the MPH units, but I'll need new lines. So it would be great to know how long each of the three lines has to be.
