leafman60 Posted May 9, 2004 Posted May 9, 2004 Just an interesting observation for you boys >> I just did a complete service on my Scura (~6000 mi) - all oils, valves, head torques etc. I put Mobile 1 throughout with moly in trans and rear, 15/50 in the motor. I went for a warm-up ride and discovered it was now idling about 200 rpm higher. I had to reset the idle and re-synch. I guess its due to less internal friction.

Humm, The higher idle speed is most likely due to the valve adjustment. If you opened up the valve adjustment spec. the bike will have a higher idle (300 rpm on my 00 V11 Sport). You will also notice that the bike has a stronger idle. I too have been using Mobil 1 in my 00 Sport for the last 20,000 miles! And use the moly additive as well. Mike
leafman60 Posted May 9, 2004 Author Posted May 9, 2004 Yes, but the idle situation was before the valve adj. Who knows?
