F344 Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 I’ve mounted some “Barender” helmet locks on my bike. I got the 7/8 OD size, and they fit pretty well. I have to change out some “O” rings and grind the squish bolts down a little. The whole installation took about 30-45 minutes. One funny thing I didn’t think about was the gap you have when there is no helmet hanging from them (About an 1/8 of an inch.) You can find Barenders at: http://www.barender.com/ They took about ten days to arrive after I ordered them on-line.
twhitaker Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 May I suggest making a washer to fill the space while your helmet is not there. Put the washers in your pocket to remind you to remove the helmet before flight.
belfastguzzi Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 How does that work then? Does the whole lot come off with a key?
F344 Posted May 28, 2004 Author Posted May 28, 2004 Good idea about the washer, Ill pick a couple up.
Guest Brian Robson Posted May 29, 2004 Posted May 29, 2004 I will try to visit the world where thieving little shits wouldn't cut a helmet strap. I can't imagine how you would feel seeing no helmet.
