Cracked gearbox case.

And my 2001 V11 has no bracket under the spine. NO evidence of someone grinded it of. Yes, I have some thoughts of making a bracket without welding. I have a spare case  .

What "2001" model V11 is this @Tomchri? Does it have the black Long Frame with the lower tube bracing?

(We know that what we call a 2002 in the USA, or even AUS/NZ, could be a 2001 in Europe.)

It's a 01 red frame Greenie with no bracing.

Wow. What is the month/year build date on the headstock tag?

Tranny recall papers came with the bike. Next winther, l'l make a bracket. Have the eyes open.

Interesting. The US bikes have a different tag showing the build date as month-year (mine shows 3-2000). Does this tag mean built the 39th week of year 2000? So, October 2000 as a 2001 model?

She was registered first time in Norway June 1  2001.    You might be right, or nov 2000 ?    I’l have an IPA and no worries.

And the tag on my 99, German edt, different. First time registered oct 28 1999 in Germany. But with the original bracket and plate.

So, everything (except the serial number) is the same on those tags. I don't see a build date, at all.

Apparently, the bottom line declares 89 decibels at 3900 rpm.

Assuming the frame bracing plate came from the factory on the 1999 Sport, they were left off fairly early. My March 2000 was delivered with no plate.

Just to clarify, @Tomchri, even though your 2001 does not have the bracing plate in place, does it have the frame mounting tab on the bottom of the spine? The mounting point at which a plate could be added?

When I had her apart, you bet I checked for the bracket. Yes the spine has been painted in red candy, but absolutely no sign of a bracket.  But what a playful gal.  Grappa my be. .

Before this, we thought all the Red Frame (1999-2001) had the bracket/mounting tab and only the black Rosso Mandello short frame (and all of the Long Frames) did not.

It seems the bracket/mounting tab was eliminated sometime for the 2001 RedFrames, as well.

What do other 2001 Red Frame Sport owners have under there?

I just had a look at my 01 ...No bracket!

A few years ago, I even ordered the plate from the States ( yep got an original Guzzi part) and when I gave it to Rob ( Mechanic ) he told me there was no means to attach it!

Rob told me no sign of any cracking on mine and that it all looked pretty sturdy as I did get him to suss it all out at the time.

Because of this I've not worried about it since.

My, my. All this time and we are still learning about these V11 . . .

So, it is not just the 2001 black/short frame Rosso Mandello that is without the mounting tab on the frame, but perhaps some/all of the 2001 Red Frames.

Build date 6-2000, titled as 2001.

no crack or  leaks

Braces still available, I ordered one 2 weeks ago, he still had some on the shelf, arrived today.

Doing some cursing warmups tonight so I can curse in sentences tomorrow.
