p6x Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 (edited) MPH is one of the too few places where you can get your vintage motorcycle looked after; At one time they were a Moto Guzzi dealership, but have parted ways with Piaggio's take over. I visited with them today, August 7th 2023, and was informed Mike, the owner has sold the car part of the business Mike Haven Automotive, and they are going to move the Motorcycle repairs to where Mike lives in Hempstead Texas, Waller county. The move should take place before the end of 2023. Mike says this will save them the commute, and will improve the turn around time for the bikes, which is currently around six weeks. Bill Hagan Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Mike, Todd, Davey, and others there over the years made MPH unforgettable and part of Moto Guzzi lore. 4
p6x Posted November 15, 2023 Author Posted November 15, 2023 I went to MPH today, at their current location, and spoke to Mike; They are not going to relocate to Hempstead, and will continue to operate out of Park Row. @PJPR01 4
PJPR01 Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 Thanks for the update here P6X! Much better for you !! I had the Scura out last weekend for a nice romp… very cool weather made for a comfortable ride! Winter riding should be much more enjoyable than the inferno of July and August! 1
p6x Posted Tuesday at 12:52 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 12:52 AM @PJPR01 I was at MPH today, for a quick check-in; According to Mike (Davey is out of commission for the time being), they are moving to Hempstead for certain. They will sign the deal later on this month, and will start the move in January 2025, to reopen in February 2025 if everything goes smooth. Too bad.. I am glad my two Guzzi are now working like clockwork, so unless anything major happens, I won't need their services any longer. 1
p6x Posted Thursday at 11:30 PM Author Posted Thursday at 11:30 PM @PJPR01 I forgot to tell you; Davey said that the Moto Guzzi dealer on the 59 in Houston, brings the bikes for service at MPH. They don't do the service in house. I am not sure if that applies to Wild West Motoplex. 1
PJPR01 Posted Friday at 04:24 AM Posted Friday at 04:24 AM Even for the new bikes? I didn’t know that Davey was familiar with the mechanical maintenance of the new bikes?

I didn’t know that Davey was familiar with the mechanical maintenance of the new bikes? That's what I was led to believe. Maybe he only got the V7's. But I will ask him if he got any V100 too. I am guessing the major difference with those are the electronics. From what I understand, the manufacturers, such as Ducati, have proprietary software and tools that you can't get if you are not a Ducati representant. In a way, we are lucky with our older motorcycles which never evolve and do not require software updates. 1
