anyone using Staintune mufflers?

Hi,

Looking at exhaust options and I really like the look of the Staintunes, I am thinking of also getting the pipes Jethot coated and thought it would be a nice look.

 

How loud are the Staintunes? Would you buy them again? How much should I pay for them??

i wanted a full staintune kit. i don't think they can exactly sell it here due to emissions issues.

what emissions issues ??? no state ive ever lived in has ever required

any motorcycle emission testing....hell they dont even do a VISUAL

inspection !?!

 

California is the worst in this regard and to my knowledge even THEY

dont do any testing (knowing the forum someone will correct me if

im wrong

 

hell you can buy after market exhaust ANYWHERE....including CALIFORNIA

(friend of mine even has his manufacturing and company set UP in calif)

while we are talking exhaust, what are peoples experiences with different x-over set ups.. I see FBF which looks more like an H pipe and Stucci which looks more X.. any thoughts?

the email i got back from staintune basicaly said, " this is not available in the u.s."

 

i really wanted the headers too.

it would be my guess that this is probably too small a market for 'em

more than anything (not like staintune is a big mfg anyway).

 

the exhaust on the v11 is nice and modular (hey i said something

positive...just for the record ...guess im getting used to the guz.

 

anyway i dont see the point in replacing anything but the

cross over & restrictive mufflers....and im not even sure

how restrictive the OE cross over is...but im sure others

have looked inside

 

so other than cosmetically having exhaust match front to

rear i cant imagine any need to replace the header tubes

I used the stucci because it made more power down low ( cant find those dyno graphs, help me Al ) I also remember someone saying the FBF had problems with cracking Another thing , when I went with the stucci the only other alternative at that time was Mistral.

ohhh very good points about the POWER band...things i'd forgotten to mention/assumed others knew.

 

im fairly happy w/ the ride-ablity of the v11...and ill do the cross over

change myself (just to even out the power band) and get some more

power lower in the rev range than what the bike has now.

A mate of mine has Staintune mufflers on his Rosso Corsa. They have a removable restrictor which helps them comply with noise laws. They sound great with the restrictor out without being offensive.

His fuel consumption figures are also better than my 2001 LeMans (22 km/litre, mine gets 19).

Don't know whether Staintune make headers to suit the V11.

I have been running the Staintunes for years and love them....they do have a restrictor that is removable and enhances the sound without being objectionable.

I never worry to much about fuel consumption as long as its not way outta wack.

Pipes and crossover have been coated and there is a pic of it somwhere on this site. There not cheap any more tho....the Euro I think is the problem with pricing...about 9 bills I believe

There are Staintunes for sale in the high 700's with free shipping.. but you have to wait 4 weeks for them.
