docc Posted April 10 Posted April 10 As of august, 2004, @Paul Minnaert had reported four of these failures. Bad production run? Unknowable. Yet it seems that if the problem affected all of the V11 aluminum flywheels, we would have seen about two failures every year for the last twenty years. 2
gstallons Posted April 11 Posted April 11 The aluminum flywheels cracking are not dissimilar to the stamped steel A.T. flywheels in vehicles. These are prone to cracking and bust the centers out. 1 1
cash1000 Posted April 16 Posted April 16 I got the flywheel out of my RM crack tested last year. No cracks found. Bikes done at least 88k (2nd speedo) 3
Steve Swan Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Did some of the 2002 models have aluminum flywheels or did all 2002 models have aluminum flywheels?
