Guest rrbasso Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 I just thought i would ask befor i go pulling wires out and re routing if anyone has a good methoud of disconnecting the kick stand cut off switch, can you just un plug or do you haft to loup it back ? also same question with the cluch cut off switch they are driving me crazzy, not because of whate they are there for i just dont like unnessary electricall things on my bike. thank you Tony
Guest GGuzzi Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 I for one am all for disconnecting the silly things. I have already had trouble with all redundency factors, clutch and neutral and kick stand safety. They suck!!!! let me say it again they suck.!!!! Loop the clutch if I am correct,I ask the dealer to do it I am not sure about the other two but I believe the kickstand is just as simple. Goodluck GG
Guest bshpilot Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 i did this on mine...pulled the clutch switch and the side stand switch... they have to be "connected"....that is to say when you pull the switch youll have to connect the remaining wires on the bike for the switches to be by passed. on the clutch switch i found that they used male connectors on the bike side so i couldnt plug the wires together...i cut the ends off...twisted the wires together and then soldered 'em and taped 'em up the side stand switch had a PLUG on it...i stuck the equiv. of a paper clip into the plug (so that the circuit was closed) and then taped everything down real well...1500 miles later and 2 rain storms and ive not had an issue
Guest rrbasso Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Thank you, i feel better now that im not alone...
Mike Stewart Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Tony, I have by passed the clutch and stand switches on both on my bikes. I hate to be stranded by a bad switch! The best place to bypass the clutch switch is under the fuel tank where the clutch switch connects to the main harness. The two wires need to be spliced together. I think the same goes for the side stand switch, but for some reason my memory is failing me after a glass of fine wine. If you want to meet this weekend, we can take care of those worthless switches. Mike
