By all accounts, the thing had a mediocre frame at best, but I saw a mate of mine in Melbourne riding his CX 500 on a dirt track like a motocross bike, so it can't be too bad. Regarding the one in the video: far too loud, I reckon, and the back-firing on the overrun would drive me nuts. And choosing the mufflers for the sound is just a wank. The important thing with an exhaust system is how it works. If it has to be loud to work, ok, but quiet is better, and there are quiet exhausts that work well. Otherwise, very pretty. The Pirelli Phantoms are nice. Always liked them. The video is quite well made, and was probably expensive. But then, I think it can be considered "advertising", so probably worth the expense. Well, I think its a sin to muffle V-twins - except Harleys. The afterfire only emulates Ducati singles which had the Brevetti "Silentium" mufflers and Del'lorto carbys. "I" would have chosen different cans myself. Re-pop Dunstall "Decibel Silencers" would certainly fit the café theme. Still loud, but less obnoxious. The Euro CXs had a better frame, but I see he used the Yank style. Still, it came out far better than most of the flat seat, monster front tire hack-jobs I see. And the CX650 has some real steam. Not as quick as a V11, but not far behind, either. 3

The factory set up had a tendency to haze the air filter with the oil mist. Plus, this is more akin to the classic BritBike style venting of a hose routed back over the fender, albeit with the little filter added for dash. 2

For the price of an Orange Griso and without any starting issues given the kick starter!!! 1989 Honda GB500 Progressive Springs Braided Stainless Brake Lines (where?) EBC Sintered Brake Lines Otherwise Bone Stock Original Excellent Original Condition No Dents or Dings (wouldn't the fissure on the seat cowl account for one?) docc Posted June 30 Posted June 30 The factory braided steel lines are on the right side of the engine for the remote oil tank. That is a very nice example complete with the auxiliary air pump on the left side of the engine and the original exhaust. Good to see the tail cowl in place, as well.

In which case, it was a cx 650 - the same bike we did the blue light on ( AND he "raced" it at Broadford back in the 90's ) BTW, to those who dislike the new katana - I'm pretty sure it was designed by the same guy who did our griso! https://www.frascolidesign.com/about-me/ 1

One time I was riding an XT 500 that belonged to my housmate. I was doing about 110, flat out on that and shaking my teeth out. Rob passed me on his Yamaha 350 dirt bike, a TT I think, at about 130 km/h. On the left, in the dirt. He was, and hopefully still is, a very good rider, but sometimes maybe a little reckless. 1

The Breva 750 too, as well as a couple of other Guzzis from the early 2000 years. https://www.frascolidesign.com/portfolio/
