As I am scanning the opportunities accross the web, a lot of Guzzi Norge have popped up.

I have noticed that only the early models come in the color I favor ().

The latest issue, powered by the 1200 8 valves appears to only be in white, or in black. Anybody knows anything different?

There was also a run of them, that we didn’t get in Oz, that were white and, wait for it, BROWN! It’s a very dark coffee coloured brown and although I usually think ‘Brown’ anything is awful, (When Australia still had an automotive industry all the really shitty looking cars were always painted a sort of ‘Squittery Brown’ colour! Puke!) I actually really, really like the brown and white Norges.

I went through a lot of internet material, and it appears that the last models were only made in "Bianco Madreperla", in commemoration of the Moto Guzzi little escapade to the Artic.

I found one for a steal price: 5000 USD!

11,000 miles, 2016 model! it seems like in immaculate conditions.

I am thinking the Griso is very much like the Le Mans; the Quota is the Dual Sport representative, so one more Guzzi should be more geared towards long distance. I think the Norge is a better representative than the cruiser bikes such as the California, Flying Fortress.

If it was not for the lack of space, I would have already purchased it! I need to resist to that temptation.

I have seen many a Norge private sales going for over 1k less, or even more. Dealers always have them at a premium...but you know that. How many Stelvios have we seen at dealers sitting for well over a year with price tags around 8k.  As with most bikes, if you are patient, the right one will come along.

I know that as me, you keep an eye on the market.

So far, I have seen a lot of 1200 8 valves powered Moto Guzzi around the 6.5/7.0 mark; Griso, Stelvio, Norge. There is a 1,800 miles 2013 Griso for sale in OK... 6.5k. Owner has passed, and being sold on behalf of. See the pic herewith. This one is completely original unlike the Houston one.

There is another Norge like the one I reported above, same year, same color, same mileage give or take 30 miles, sold 1,500 USD more in NH. The cheaper Norge I have seen (Griso too) are the 2 valves one). Around 4kUSD.

I don't know, besides us, who is in the market to get an older Moto Guzzi here in the USA. Except at the dealership, I am yet to see a V100 in the flesh around.

Welcome, @Donk!

Yes twin to it but no top box.  Had 8500 miles on it when I bought it now has 10,100.  Need to find a right side breather hose as it's cracked and leaking oil otherwise the bike is great.  I still ride it as is until hose comes from Italy by boat.  Picture is too large to upload.

Brown color is affectionately known as Mahogany or Espresso...it's a lovely color in person.  A few folks have brought them to rallies...had it been available in the earlier years I would have bought one.  Had to settle for the plain Silver one...

I have been thinking about doing a wrap however on the Norge to freshen it up....a few color choices are:

1.  Black Cherry

2. Deep Purple  (Porsche GT3RS color for example).

3. Italian Police Blue

Now to find a good wrap shop here in Houston and get a reasonable quote...

Why has it got to be wrap?

Can it be powder coating of some sort? is wrap reliable long term? is it not going to start peeling like we see on some cars? I am told the peeling on cars is due to what manufacturers used to put on top of the paint job, to protect it, but it turns out like a snake sheding.

Also, given the Texas weather and hamering sun, wouldn't the wrap be susceptible to degrade very fast?

@PJPR01 I am certain you can A.I. this as well as I do, but just in case:

Downsides to vinyl wrapping your car

Wraps look great and can bring a quick pop of color or a unique pattern to your car, but they’re not always the best choice. You’ll need to consider the downsides of a vinyl wrap, which can be significant, depending on where you live and how you use your vehicle. Vinyl requires attention and care, and you can’t park for too long in direct sun or extremely hot areas.

You’ll need to clean the surface regularly, especially if you see bird droppings, bugs, or salt/sand — but automatic or touchless car washes are a big no-no, and you can’t use a harsh abrasive cleaner. While wraps look and feel like regular paint, you should treat them like a sticker, which they are. The hassle might outweigh any benefits you get.

At this point, it's a 2008 Norge, so I'm not worried about paint degradation...it's already old. The paint has some chips, some wear and tear as expected for a bike of this age.  At one point about 7 years ago, I thought about taking all of the Silver parts off, and taking them to a painter.  1/2 way thru the removal of the parts, I realized that getting all of the remaining parts off would be a monster task.

So a wrap is much easier to do from an application perspective vs. removing parts and painting them.  Even if the wrap degrades a bit over time, that's OK.  The bike is housed in the garage, and only open to the weather on many trips...I would need to see if the quality of the vinyl wrap is good enough and also what the cost is...I don't have a quote yet, but I think it would be a lot easier to do a wrap than painting/disassemble.

The painting quote was also not reasonable vs. the value of the bike....so I am hopeful that a wrap might be more economical...we'll see!  At any rate, it's not a Stradivarius...so I can be a little less concerned about quality.
