I did clean it a bit, before reassembling the new stator, looked good. I did fully change the battery (lithium), and it's been sitting on the bench for three days, let me go measure now… 13.43. There's nothing to a rotor. It's just a round blob with magnets. Unless it's thrown a magnet or a magnet has migrated out and is touching the stator then there's nothing to go wrong. Why are people talking about belts and brushes? It's a V11 Sport isn't it? Phil Edited Thursday at 05:23 AM by Lucky Phil 3 1
pete roper Posted Thursday at 05:58 AM Posted Thursday at 05:58 AM Yah. It’s the Ducati permanent mag Alt. One thing I can think of is was the stator or rotor removed and the rotor not stuck into the stator as a ‘Keeper’ for any length of time? If so it’s possible it may of lost its magnetism which will hinder charging. 3 1 1
LaGrasta Posted Thursday at 09:44 PM Author Posted Thursday at 09:44 PM I so very much appreciate all of your suggestions. Thank you. I will try all of them and report back. I'm a bit delayed trying to finish a bit of work on my KLX250, near completed. 1
LowRyter Posted Thursday at 11:13 PM Posted Thursday at 11:13 PM I suppose it's been mentioned that the ground should be inspected. 3

The importance of the main ground from the battery to the back of the gearbox cannot be overemphasized . . . As well as the additional ground from the regulator case to the engine timing chest: 2 1
po18guy Posted Friday at 02:06 AM Posted Friday at 02:06 AM I have found over-zealous application of shrink wrap at both ends of the cable. Thus, it was making only partial contact, squishing the shrink wrap, which will continue to compress, slowly loosening the connection. Add in that Guzzi character (vibration), and it becomes a recipe for future consternation. 1
