The major issue there is, after a quick look, most of the pressure switches have no description of the thread, usually NPT, and the pressure threshold at which the light will be triggered.

Thanks to Stein-Dinse, we know that the pressure switch has a M12x150 thread, even if they list it as 1,5; the SI normalize way to call it is 150, so there is no confusion for those that have the dot as a decimal separation. In any case, it means a diameter of 12 mm, with a thread pitch of 1.5 mm (1,5mm). M12 is a parallel thread, so you are going to need a washer.

According to this unit convertor, that is about the same as the Fiat part I posted further up.

The one in my link is allegedly for a large number of Fiat tractors. Must be good for a Guzzi. :grin:

Seriously, though, the crucial question is whether that opening pressure is appropriate. I have no idea, but I could imagine that it would work adequately. Changing the connector on the wire is not a huge problem. Still, at the price of the part from Stein-Dinse I would just get that and save myself the buggerising around.:huh2:

My 2000 Sport definitely has the "bullet" connector as shown by @PhillipLarsen, not the "spade connector.

Yes, and of course that would be the best solution. Saves altering the wiring. But if that part is not available or should become not available... :huh2:

Hi, the switch on my V11 Sport gave up, it no longer closes the circuit when stopped. I read somewhere here that an automotive one will fit. Anyone have any idea which vehicle and a part No?

Talking about the connector, I found mine a bit corroded this evening when I inspected the type. I gave it a shot of Caig DeOxit® and slipped "the boot" back on.

A couple things came to mind:

1) If the connection fails, it will act like a bad switch and the oil warning light will not illuminate when the bike is not running, ignition on (before start up and a few seconds after shut down). @bullionz failure could be a connection failure.

2) This connection is rather in the weather and the original connection is bare and unprotected. I added this "boot" from the V11 EV ("California?") side of the range.
