Jaide Posted March 25 Posted March 25 I had a very day today and dropped my bike after a ride. Thankfully the damage isn't too bad, but I'm really bummed out regardless. Tthe left mirror broke (I already ordered a replacement), I got a small scratch in the fairing, and I broke this protective part on the valve cover (pictured). I don't know what it's called, and after searching around the internet for a few hours I haven't been able to find any for sale either. Does anyone know where I can still get this part?

There are a variety of companies that offer those. Given where you are you may want to try local companies, like https://en.tlm.nl/moto-guzzi-triumph/039410009000-klepdekselbeugel-vierkant Sadly they are currently out of stock. Try googling guzzi head guard. This company makes their own versions, not as pretty but arguably more robust. https://guzzipower.com/store/Headguard.html You still have one good one, I assume. Any decent machinist should be able to make you a matching pair using the good one as a template. My wife made hers. Of course, she had access to a CNC routing table. Edited March 25 by GuzziMoto 2
GuzziMoto Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Oh, TLM looks to have these in stock.https://en.tlm.nl/moto-guzzi-triumph/9786815-1-klepdekselbeugel-vierkant-alu-glimmend 2

Speedfrog Posted March 25 Posted March 25 (edited) Sorry to see the damage that happened to your bike It looks like Stein-Dinse has some, half the price than TLM, albeit special order, but I trust them to be able to fulfill as I have ordered many time from them and had nothing but positive experiences. https://www.stein-dinse.com/en/moto-guzzi-cylinder-protection-guard-silver-big-models/item-1-1431755.html Edited March 25 by Speedfrog 3

Now my only worry is fixing the scratch, and it will be like nothing ever happened. Thanks! 2
gstallons Posted March 26 Posted March 26 FWIW , remove the spark plug and inspect it . it is probably damaged from the crash. Also, check the spark plug cap . Remove the (unscrew) cap from the wire and check the resistance ( I think it should be 5k) , and look for a tear in the boot. 3
GuzziMoto Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Like others said, I would order a pair or they probably won't match (although you can only see one side of the bike at a time), and I would look closely for other damage like to the spark plug and spark plug boot. You also might want to re-torque the cylinder head. 1

As far as I know, those protectors are always after-market accessories, so it is more or less pot luck to find a match to the set you have. Also, the ones you have will look a bit weathered, and the replacement brand new. And yes, have a really good look for hidden damage. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that there isn't any.
motortouring Posted March 26 Posted March 26 It is a pitty you ordered them already. Calling JRE Robers in Hengelo would give you advise on what to buy including the quality of the SD versions. He might have some singles as well. And when you would need a new part for the fairing, check the MGCN.NL forum. Some guys over there sit on enormous piles of NOS. 1
