badmotogoozer Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Bikes leave the factory with synth? My 01 V11 had dino oil in it on the show floor. The service guy told me not to go to synthetic until after the second service. This is all I know. I know what it says in the service manual, but there is an awful lot that it leaves unsaid! Rj
belfastguzzi Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 then you got:- media noise - disturbance from external vibration - mechanical problems like dust and scratches IRL, no way is vinyl better than CD. It's just a cult, just as strong as the dino-oil-cult. Goran, are you trying to work up to telling us that you have got rid of your Guzzi and bought a Honda Smoothamatic?
belfastguzzi Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 but nothing beats the satisfaction of listening to something er, watch out JRT. There's a snake beside your coffee maker!
belfastguzzi Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 I have also had good results with dino oil ...etc, etcThere are always exceptions, and what sounds good to one ear (music or RPM's) sounds like shite etc, etc warmed olive oil is best for ears, as I'm sure your granny could have told you.
belfastguzzi Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 ....But like all things, it's a matter of taste You were going so well, Al – up to this point.
belfastguzzi Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 It's official ! Site to be renamed ' Hi Fi monthly '. I suppose no one was visiting the 'It's Official!' site, when they called it that. I don't think that the new name is much better though.
belfastguzzi Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 Well, you won’t believe this but I saw the "KISS" live in concert in 1980 in Milano. Not for a minute I don't.
belfastguzzi Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 on the machine: MACHINE! How can you call it that!
belfastguzzi Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 i wonder how much weight i'd shave off the bike if i just ran with no fluids whatsoever ? Dunno: what does 10 rum and blackcurrants weigh? Don't do it without medical supervision.
belfastguzzi Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 haha mixed a 40 piece orchestral piece with a 90 piece a good buddy of mine did this back in 1986 At that time, it was groundbreaking (especially when you read the gear that was used
belfastguzzi Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 pretentious synth crap ... I am synthed out for eternity. The older I get, the simpler my oil should be. You've changed your tune.
belfastguzzi Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 Ask me about the time my "engineered" fuel line exploded under the hood, CanI pass on that, Al?
al_roethlisberger Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 ....holy moly Belfast Are you trying to "catch up" on the post totals or something
belfastguzzi Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 moly good to see you bring it back on topic
belfastguzzi Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 2. I'd just go the safe route, do what it says in the owners manual. .... oil companies are given oil parameter guidelines from governments, and also to a lesser extent engine companies. 2. Well, if the government says our engines need it............. (did your govt. also try it make it law that half-section dustbins should be bolted to each side of the bike, for the benefit of leg protection. I wish I could find a picture of the contraptions somewhere on the web to post here) – this is the sort of thing I think this is an American version, but it's much of a muchness with the UK one in the ugly stakes
