Guest bshpilot Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 had to laugh today...stopped by my local chrome dealer (aka harley shop) i was impressed to have to turn loose of only $9.50 (USD) for FOUR smoked signal lens'/covers what made me laugh was the package...labeled BUELL said "made in italy" right on the part bag
Guest northend Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 Yup, Same manufacturer that makes Guzzi's lenses makes them for the Buell's
al_roethlisberger Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 ....and they look particularly good with the Champagne bodywork methinks
Guest bshpilot Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 did yall use ORANGE bulbs or these Incandescent "CHROME" bulbs (scroll down about 2/3 of the page to see 'em HERE )
GuzzTim Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 they're also used on the two wheeled snowmobiles .... aka Victory... so if you're ever in some wierd corner of the planet where there's a Victory dealership and no Buell dealership....
Guest northend Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 No. I used the yellow inserts that you can buy that install with the smoke lenses and used the stock bulbs........Worked out great Total cost for smoke lenses and yellow insert covers was under 20.00 bucks And they REALLY look nice on a Black/Gray Le Mans
Guest JEB758 Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 Had a mishap with my Scura taday and need to replace a couple of the stock turn signal lenses. I want to replace all four with the Buell lens. Does any body have a part # for the lenses? My nearest Buel Dealer is about an 1 hour away so I want to call first. Also, do you have to change the buld to Yellow? Yjanks, J.Bee
Guest bshpilot Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 i can give you the p/n for the smoked cover (apparently there is an amber insert too...which i didnt buy...) if you get the amber insert then you dont need to change to an amber bulb. unfortunately i can only get you part of the way BUT the dealer should be able to tell you or match up the amber insert w/ this... take one of your GOOD signals w/ you and a small philips screw driver and test fit one @ the buell dealer
edge Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 Buell Light Parts & cost: Y0040.K Inner Turn Signal $1.95 US Y0039.K Outer Turn Signal $2.20 US or If you need to change out your complete signal, the buell one has the rubber middle and looks the same as a MG and includes the lenses your looking for Y0527.K Turn Signal Right Rear (or left front on a MG) $5.60 US Y0526.K Turn Signal Left Rear (or right front on a MG) $5.60 US. So.. If he doesnt have 4 each of the lenses alone, check for the signal assembleys they include the two lenses. I do not have the #s for the fronts, they are a little longer but have the lenses your looking for too.
Guest HDGoose Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 I am running 4 of the "Buel" turn signals on the LeMansIV.
Guest dkgross Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 I had the pleasure of donating $15 for a SINGLE CAN of 'wrinkle paint' spray paint at my local Harley Dealer this am...gonna do a little touch up on my engine...if I ever see her again
Guest bshpilot Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 did yall use ORANGE bulbs or these Incandescent "CHROME" bulbs(scroll down about 2/3 of the page to see 'em HERE ) update.... ive recv'd the bulbs...i CAN NOT recommend the CHROME bulbs...they simply are not very bright at all. Ive decided to use the amber bulbs behind the buell smoked lens (im not using the buell amber insert) i can post some pictures (of both bulbs/setups) if you like....
Guest robbrugg Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 Thanks for those pics - WHAT A DIFFERENCE! The smoked w/chrome looks really cool. Too bad...
