Guest erik Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 Hi all, after the hollidays motoring around Hungaria and so I noticed some strange things. When the bike is warm, during acceleration the oil light comes on. This only happens in first or second gear. Also I had to add oil during the 5500 km trip, around 1.5 liters. Can this have anyting to do with the combined recall and dual plug conversion I had done before the trip. Checking the plugs showed ash deposits on them. Has anyone experienced the same or simmilar? Erik
Paul Minnaert Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 If the oil light is on during acceleration, it seems to me the oil level is to low. I know the oilpan isn't made very smart. But low oil is the way to get serious damage. If the bike used oil before the recall, I don't know, you should know. Dual plugging has nothing to do with it. Best visit your dealer.
pete roper Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 The flickering oil light is the bikes way of telling you it's destroying it's big ends. If you have a look at the blurb I wrote about windage trays you'll see why. As for the twin plugging how did you modify the advance curve to suit? Pete
