joe camarda Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 Has anyone swapped their 4.5 inch stock (01 V11 Sport) rear wheel for a 5.5 incher? If so, please answer a quick q' for me. Will the wider tire/wheel push the tire closer to one exhaust can than the other, making the rear end look imbalanced? PS. I've tried to search the forum but am having problems...I think this topic has been previously covered. TIA, Joe Camarda
Martin Barrett Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 With out searching the threads - I think the concensus was to fit narrower tyres. to get a rounder profile (no pinching) to improve turning in. Baldini was considering the change to a smaller rim. This would bring the front and rear profiles closer and give a smoother turn in. The larger tyres are needed for the horsepower monsters to get it down on the road. I don't think our V11 match that discription, so is its down to asthetics. I like the look and lack the skill to have issues with the handling, not even adjusted the suspension, just ride.
al_roethlisberger Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 No, it will look "normal" ...just wider. al
TX REDNECK (R.I.P.) Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 Joe & Martin , both of you are cops & have the same problems as truck drivers, namely in y'alls case from eating donuts. Fit the bigger wheel so your ass doesn't look as big.
