Guest erikhorton Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 Running 500~525 TPS with World Spec valves, do the spark plugs need to be gapped any differently than stock?

Guest erikhorton Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 Well, I'm about to give up and take the bike to the shop. Here's my set up, again. PCIII with map from Guzzitech Stucchi x-over M4 exhaust FBF lidless airbox TPS - connected/switch on/engine off = 517 mV Valves - .004 / .006 Idle 1200~1300 I don't know what else to do. I've got a miss at idle and low rpm's that all but cuts the bike off. I have to make a conscious effort to give a little extra throttle to keep it running.
TX REDNECK (R.I.P.) Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 Have you changed the relays ? I was having similar problems & turned out I had condensation in the relays.
Guest erikhorton Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 I haven't checked the relays, but I will. A little more info to clarify. The problem appears to becoming from only the right cylinder, almost like its blowing back into the intake. Here's a timeline. All new gadgets - TPS at a stock 150 - no sputtering, but really sluggish on take off. Read some threads - TPS set to 300 - no sputtering, definately got better on take off. Talked to Guzzitech - TPS set to the current 500 - sputtering began, can't get it to stop, tried turning the TPS back. Adjusted the valves to world spec, balanced the throttle bodies, pulled hair out, cursed.
