Too bad Enzo doesn't frequent here anymore. I think he has a two into one fitted on his bike. You might want to post this same question on the MGNOC website- I know he still ocassionally posts there.

I've *heard* that 2/1 exhausts don't work well on Guzzi's. I have no personal experience so I can't say. I'm also kind of interested in it, because I would like to fit a 2/1 onto my sidecar rig, but don't want to if it really works against the motor.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, Enzo was getting very close to 90hp to the rear wheel and an extremeley flat and impressive torque curve.

I got one homebuilt and I had planned a dyno run before the season ended

but between buying a house and unstable weather I did get to it.

It will be done first thing in the season of 2005.

I really needs some tuning (more petrol) in the low and mid RPM ranges,

in high RPMs in works OK with a open-filter/mistrals map I got on the net.

I gutted a stock crossover removing some mesh, damping and a stabilizing

bolt. Cut of the left hand outlet, banged it together and welded it shut.

On the right side and put a 2" bend and a 4" Supertrapp megaphone with

6 diffusion plates.

The sound is nice, classic looks and save a few kilos weight.

GREAT JOB!

My experience , 6 discs was not enough for 1064 twin engine.

when I used super trapp for XLH1200+hi-flowhead

12to15 discs with openend made good result on DYNO.

Cut him some slack: he's posting from Sweden! They tend to be a little more solicitous of their neighbor's good graces over there than us obnoxiously loud Yanks!

I had a very sucessful two into one system on a modified 750-S3.

Dynos weren't around for Joe Public at the time, but it was a lot cleaner on pick-up & you could play a symphony depending on what revs you shut off from! :D

It was pretty loud, but mellodious and not offensive!

IIRC the bloke that fabricated it for me (who used to do exhausts for Vauxhall works rally cars) said that the crux of getting a two into one to work right is to have even length downpipes & have the collector 42" from the head. It seemed to work very well as friends & family had three or four more similar design systems that all worked very well.

I will continue my experiments when spring is here again,

the riding season is almost over here up-north.

I have a extra 6-pack of disks and I will try to find an optimal

compromise between flow and a resonable sound level.

My first prototype broke when I was on a test ride so I know

the sound of a V11 with straight pipes... it is not recommended.

An easy reving twin like our V11s without some damping is :not:

like a straight pipe Harley, the sound is harder and much loader,

so load that it is uncomfortable even riding the bike with fullface

helmet on.

It is a 2" intake an 4" disk unit.

The megaphone I used came of a Buell kit,

but I think the part numbers for just similar megaphones is

425-20000 with a matt finish and

426-20010 chromed

but check with your supertrapp dealer since their might be

different lenghts available

Gthyni - do you have an update on this project?

nothing special,

it did it's service this summer,

looks cool, sound cool.

I just rewelded a crack that was due to bad welding on my part.

I haven't dyno-ed it yet,

but probably will coming spring.
