tomsp Posted September 21, 2004 Share Posted September 21, 2004 OK, just wanted to add something to the NEW forum and there's nothing like a dumb (or at least odd) question. The rear brake rotor on my 03 lemans has a bronze or copper (?) ring around its outside edge. Why is that? The front rotors are steel with no "gold" edge. What's the difference? Anyone notice this? al_roethlisberger Posted September 21, 2004 Share Posted September 21, 2004 Well, I can't say for certain, but since the rear rotor is solid(i.e. not floating), it was probably painted as one piece, then ground off where the pads will run.
