tomsp Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 OK, just wanted to add something to the NEW forum and there's nothing like a dumb (or at least odd) question. The rear brake rotor on my 03 lemans has a bronze or copper (?) ring around its outside edge. Why is that? The front rotors are steel with no "gold" edge. What's the difference? Anyone notice this? I didn't! Some people standing around my bike at an event in Stockton did last week and I didn't have an answer
al_roethlisberger Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 Well, I can't say for certain, but since the rear rotor is solid(i.e. not floating), it was probably painted as one piece, then ground off where the pads will run. So, along the outer edge, a gold "ring" could have been left during this process I'm sure it's nothing "special" though al
jrt Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 Tom, I think you're special. Don't listen to Al. J
tomsp Posted September 21, 2004 Author Posted September 21, 2004 I know. But beyond that, you mean MY bike has something none of the others has :!: oh and Al (on another thread) - I've already conacted Harpers
