Skeeve Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 I don't think that they fiddle with springs and such things in a motorcycle factory nowadays. The seat parts are coming from company A, the complete idle lever comes from company B, the latch comes from C, the frame from D and so on. The worker takes what's delivered to the line and puts it onto the bike, that's all. It should not be possible for a Guzzi worker to mix up only the springs. Guzzi always did most of their stuff in house; who's to say they didn't supply the springs to local sub-contractors for assembly to latches, etc. and mix up the springs in shipment? But like you said, as long as it's a simple swap, who cares how it happened?
abouc Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Great thread. I swapped the springs today. The seat spring was still a bit too long for the fast idle cable, so I used a pen spring. 15 minutes later, my seat stays closed and the fast idle works like a charm.

Glad you liked it; thanks for the old thread resurrection! Just goes to show what a great resource we have here for those who are new to the V11 fold!
