Gearchange problems

I have an 02 Lemans. This past week, i have noticed that as i change from 3rd to 4th, i pull in the clutch, and as i try to shift the gear lever, it seems solid and won't move...sometimes i let the clutch out thinking it's in 4th, only to find it's still in 3rd.

 

Trying again gets it into 4th. Anyone else ever experienced this.

 

This isn't a problem when pootling round town, but was out for a longer faster ride today, and it's a bit un-nerving when the rear end throws itself about when i mistakenly think it's in 4th, and give it a another handful to stay with my friends on their jap bikes!

 

Sorry if this is a known problem and i haven't researched it thoroughly enough, but off to Ireland soon, and if it's something i need to worry about, would like to get onto the dealer as we all know how long it will take to anything done to a Guzzi, esp here in the uk.
