oil leak at ignition timing pickup

I have an oil leak at the ignition timing pickup.

 

I see that there is some red-coloured sealant used by the factory to seal the ignition timing pickup. Do I need to use anything special when re-sealing the pickup?

I have an oil leak at the ignition timing pickup.

 

A sealant such as Yamabond or Permatex liquid gasket is what I've used. You have to let them cure fully over-night in a heated space, but they will work.
