But at roughly 180 bucks a pop I would still use a kinder more gentler pad

I find them listed as stainless in several differenct references...I too must replace my pads in the very near future...I am wrestling with the pros/cons of the various compounds, but EBC seems the best/easiest brand to obtain and have a good rep in the chat strings. It never stops. k
