Guest GGuzzi Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 No sooner did I read about the dangers of covering your Bike that I noticed severe buffetting on the left side of my fairing. My question is two fold. Can the clear coat be repair? And is there a cover out there that doesn't dull the paint? Now granted most covers will say scratch proof but few are such. Any Ideas besides an indoor garage?
Admin Jaap Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 I picked up this link on the dutch Guzzi forum: http://www.permabag.com/bike.htm Looks like quality product.
mik Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 " Can the clear coat be repair?" You can try a product called Imperial Hand Glaze by 3-M. I have used it with success removing scratches in clear coat and windscreens.
not_scooter_Scura! Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 No sooner did I read about the dangers of covering your Bike... WOAH there! dangers in covering bike? what did I miss here...
Guest GGuzzi Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 WOAH there! dangers in covering bike? what did I miss here... 39209[/snapback] I recently had a gust of wind push my bike to the ground. The entire right side of the Fairing need to be replaced. To add insult to injury due to the wind the cover was flapping and rubbing against ther clearcoat which in turn dulled and scratched it in a few places. I guess for those poor suckers like me that have to park in out door garages these are the dangers, for indoor, well no problem I am sure.
twhitaker Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 My take is that while some covers are scratchproof it is the dust in between the cover and the bike that does the nasty deed.
