helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 I have my Centauro home finally and I took it out for a first ride last night. Wow does it have power! I know it has a Mistral crossover and LaFranconi pipes but I never imagined it would be as quick as it is! I read up in Guzzioligy that it has Carrillo rods and forged pistons. I don't need any convincing! Will get some pics and video later!
Dirtybill Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 And I thought I was the only one who liked the looks of the Centauro
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted December 30, 2004 Author Posted December 30, 2004 I think Brian G likes the look too!
friskycutter Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 Good to hear Jim!! Any progress on registering v10 in Can. after all the Customs shite?
v50man Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 Fast -- yes. Beautiful? I still think it's the best looking motorcycle ever made. But, damn, is it porky.
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted December 30, 2004 Author Posted December 30, 2004 But, damn, is it porky. No kidding! I'm glad the weight is down low. Time to start surfing ebay for accessories!
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted December 30, 2004 Author Posted December 30, 2004 registering v10 in Can. Yes but I don't know if it will be called a Moto Guzzi when I'm done!
v50man Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 No kidding! I'm glad the weight is down low. Time to start surfing ebay for accessories! 39878 Why don't you start by eliminating those ugly mirrors and replacing them with these: http://www.motostrano-store.com/rirmi.html They "lower" the look of the bike -- quite nice.
Guest jbrobson Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 No kidding! I'm glad the weight is down low. Time to start surfing ebay for accessories! 39878 Great one more person I have to bid against. Congrats on the greatest bike ever made.
Diesel Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 Why don't you start by eliminating those ugly mirrors and replacing them with these: http://www.motostrano-store.com/rirmi.html Wow! Thoose are nice mirrors. I might have to pick up a set for mine. Congrats on the Centauro.
Skeeve Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 And I thought I was the only one who liked the looks of the Centauro 39829 You are: styling-wise, the Centauro is, shall we say, "challenged." Love the 4v motor, tho'. Wish MG had standardized on it and let the 2v fade away, instead of the reverse. Ah well, gotta go w/ what works, and the 4v unfortunately, didn't (as delivered) which led to problems. If they'd only invested a little more time in it & sorted it out properly, there might have been a future where the MGS-01 actually arrived in '01!
BrianG Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 OK, Jim... I want you to keep a detailed journal of this process. If your experience nets me the #2 Canadian registered Moto Jimoozy Centauro, the beer's on me! By the way, how the hell did you even get it across the border?? (or is it still on a tourist visa??) My freakin' LEGAL V11 Sport is still hung up on the wrong side of the damn border!
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted December 31, 2004 Author Posted December 31, 2004 I,ll have to PM you to let you in on the secret. It wasn't hard with the right signature though.

helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted December 31, 2004 Author Posted December 31, 2004 I prefer not to hide behind a silly name when I bid. By the way, I really love that 4V engine. I'll be getting in touch with you about some engine guards and other knowledge soon.
