Hello everybody,

I just got my new V11 scura last week and has been enjoying the ride.

I had it specially imported into Singapore. There is less then 10 people riding a Guzzi in this country. Been exclusive here doesnt help much.

Nobody here seems to know how to service or even repair a Guzzi.

I m just keepin my finger cross dat everything will be fine.

Meanwhile i believe the only reliable source i can get is from this forum.

First thing first, can someone help me with this few question:

1. in the manual it is written first service is 500÷1500km.

Now what does dat mean...???

2. Does anyone know where i can buy oil filter cartridge online?

3. What is the part no. for the oil filter cartridge?

4. also what is the part no. for the sump gasket?

5. and lastly i need a workshop manual soon. Know where i can buy one online?

Thanks in advance for your time. meanwhile will appreciate any advise on what should i watch out for during the running in period.

Francis,

Welcome to the V11 Scura world. These bikes are easy to maintain without specialist knowledge. I can service mine and I have 10 thumbs!

I did my first service at 1,200km, oil, filter, valves and cleaned screen in sump.

You may not need a sump gasket but it is handy to have one and rocker cover gaskets as well.

I have used TLM who advertise on this site for all my spares including workshop manual.

Regards from a cold Ireland,

John

If you are interested, I have a couple of photocopies of the V11Sport Manual.

I posted info on it under buy and sell.

You can also download the manual for free.

The link to that is listed under Buy and Sell.

Or if you want the CD Jaap may be able to provide it to you.

My ad should read:

While making myself a heavier paper weight copy, I made a few extra copies to sell, one already to HiCheck.

Here are the options:

1)All sold out!

2) The original photocopied version from Pacific Sport Cycle(run through the photocopier a couple times, without damage. It is bound and slightly better image quality.) $35 delivered within US via USPS

3)Copied,no binding, but on to very heavy 100# paper. Kinkos charged me 32.75 to copy it! and misquoted me...The heavy paper should out last the bike. $35.00 delivered within US by USPS.

There is only one available of each. And I am not going to do this again. So, first come, first serve. The quality is not perfect, as the image appears to be a third generation photocopy with shadows of the previous binding. Not pretty, but not bad either.

Everything is still legible, except a few numbers on the wiring diagram.

I can ship outside the US for additional cost.

I broke up the address to reduce spam. put it together like johndoe@san.rr.com

Be sure to put v11 manual in the subject heading so your reply does not get lost.

thank you

Hi Callison, have not met anyone with Daytona RS yet...???

Apparently the local Guzzi dealer decided to drop the brand after a few years of non profit investment. so its difficult to come across any guzzi riders nowadays.

Hi Emry, your manual is the first thing i take note from the net. You r right... i didnt get mine. Of course the new bike dealer have no idea wat i m talking about.

Hi Dlaing, i have manage to get a CD from Jaap. thanks alot for your offer anyway.

The first service can be done anytime between 500 and 1500 km. My dealer (EP&F Guzzi-Jim Knaup-www.epfguzzi.com) changed engine oil & filter, trans & rear drive oils, checked cylinder head torque & valve clearances, and checked the EFI operation with his computer. My valve cover gaskets & oil filter cover o-ring were all reusable. I've been strictly observing the rev limits during running in and varying my road speed. When I put my hand on the valve cover going down the road there's no vibration whatsoever! I had to dump the petroleum 20W50 for some 10W40 for easier cold starting. It gets pretty cold up here at 7240 ft (2207 m) in the mountains. Enjoy your Scura! I can't get enough of my Tenni. It handles like a dream! :D

hahaha... thanks for clearing that up. this is the first bike manual that i come across that wrote "500÷1500"... really confuse the shit out of me.

at one time i was even wondering do i have to oil change it 3 times at every 500km up to 1500km...!!!

thanks

hmmm...maybe that was a typo. It probably meant 500 miles / 1500 KM.

Reminds me of the funny phonetics in Japanese manuals :D
