I would test the high RPM voltage output.

It should be 14.1-14.6 Volts.

If not, there is your problem, or the way your luck is running, one less of your problems....

I should, except that I cruised down the road this weekend at 7000 rpm in third gear for two miles. No problem. Slowly exceeded the rpm limt, and wham - the fuse blew. I still haven't added an extra ground on the regulator though and I will add one to the ECU case as well. You should see the ground wires I'm putting together - you could tow another bike with 'em :bike:

Just waiting for the damn rain to quit. No riding for at least a couple of more days anyway - Doctor's orders.

Hi Carl,

Any luck with that ECU swap?

Dave, thanks for letting me try your other ECU. It works just like mine, i.e., the fuse still blows. I suppose that's encouraging as it means that the problem lies elsewhere and not in the ECU. I'm going to have to swap a regulator out with one of the other bikes and see if it's just a flaky regulator. After that, the only thing left is literally the wiring harness. I did add some very nice heavy duty ground wires to both the regulator and ECU to preclude that specific type of problem, but that didn't cure anything.
