Hello everyone, this is my first day on the site :!: I'm the new owner of a Rosso Mandello #74 Does anyone else here own one? I'd love to hear from others with the same bike. Btw mine only has 315 miles on it as I write this! Once I pick it up this weekend & the weather warms up though there will be lots of miles enjoyed on it I hope. :mg:

Hi Richard, and welcome

Feel free to introduce yourself "further" in our "Member Introduction" section:

But yes, we have several RM owners on board, and I'm sure they'll be happy to introduce themselves. In particular, you might find the following some interesting initial reading:

Well...it was (is) brand new. Also it was located within 100 miles. That and aside from maybe the rosso corsa its the best looking Guzzi I've seen. I've never ridden a Guzzi before, guess I'll have a try at it this weekend when I bing it home!

You bought it without riding it?

There is one in Sydney I have been looking. Very nice bike.

It looks even better with this accessory :)

Congrats Richard  Now let me rain on your parade  Has your bike had the trans recall work done ? Also some of the Rosso's were affected by the rod bolt recall too. The single plate clutch is something to keep an eye on also. However I don't think anyone in NA has had the clutch go south :huh2: This model is also prone to flaking engine paint .

Some people opted for $750 worth of accesories instead of having the cases replaced. Do you know what Lora did ? Maybe Todd will answer this , but I believe you can still have the trans & rod bolt recall work done at the factory's expense since this was NHTSA recall. You'll need the VIN # to see if your' bike is affected .

I know she had the tranny recall done. You know Lora? Moto Guzzi owners must be a tight community!

Welcome, and don't let Tx scare you..

like our watchdog, his bark is much worse than his bite.

You don't disclose your location--

all that follows applies to USA- FWIW

The Rossos' were subject to the trans recall, but not the rod bolt recall(only early 2000 models,[even yours was past that date,TR])

The engine paint will bubble between 2-5k miles.

I am unclear on how this is handled on a bike quite out of warranty--

If you are in the US, contact

customerrelations@motoguzzi-us.com with your VIN number and ask for details.

Always loved the Rosso, one of my favorites.

That paint in the sun is a true thing of beauty.

1 of the 3 we sold was to a dear friend, who died last year of cancer:

Can't see or think of one without thinking of Neil.

Please do what he would do-- ride the hell out of it.

They're great at it. And man, so was he.

your break in is going to be a little bumpy, but after your first fluid change and the green light to head up over 5k rpm, she smooths right out.

nonone is going to know what your bike is, so be ready for that(well no younger guys anyway  ). :helmet:

welcome aboard.
