Guest HDGoose Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Are the Balabio style mounted handle bars comparable to the SP for height? I cannot handle clip-ons, but perhaps a Balabio. Or a V11 LeMans with MPH style mounts? How much can you raise the bars up on a V11 LeMans?
TX REDNECK (R.I.P.) Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Gary, as tall as you are even with the billy bob the foot pegs will have your knees under your chin . I put bars on mine & still need Kens foot peg lowering kit to make it half assed comfortable. Once you get past 6'1 these bikes are torture racks coupled with the stock seat . This is what you need
Paul Minnaert Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 I see that different, the taller you are, the longer your arms are. I'm 1.90 meter, and the v11 le mans stock feels quite comfortable to me. The Sp exists with different sort of bars, but roughly you can compare the sp with a balabio. I think the balabio wins in comfort, because the shocks are better, the comfort is better. Overal is it a much easier bike. The le mans with risers can be a choice if you want a real working fearing. You just have to drive them to get the feel.
BrianG Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 I have the perfect way to fix the positional discomfort of your V11 Sport. You can take my Honda CBR 900RR out on the highway for 3 or 4 hours. It'll cost ya nothing, and you don't have to even turn a wrench. I guarantee you that you'll get on the Sport and it'll feel like a Cadillic! At 6'2 and 225lb it works for me, every time!
Admin Jaap Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 I have the same "dimensions" as BrianG and ride very comfortably with the Ballabio-bar on my LeMans (w/o fairing) But I have to say that the inch higher Rich Maund seat helps a lot too!
Guest motomaniac Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Does the higher seat only help with taller folks? I'm a hair over 5.5' tall, and I think I'd like a lower seat height. Would this not respectively raise the handlebar height when sitting on bike? Thus less weight on the wrists?
