Here goes Al, the Lemans has 31,000 miles...the FJR has 2200. :bike:

the FJR is a great bike, just not for me.It has tons of power and torque, huge gas tank, shaft drive. After riding old FJ's and now the LeMans, the FJR seems like riding a Goldwing. Its a japanese sewing machine. The riding position for me is to upright. Funny that everyone wanted to raise the bars even more...the are a bunch of kits available....and I was looking for some clipons or something. :o even bought the Spiegler superbike bar kit. Might have worked better with a drag bar.didn't change riding position that much.anyway, the LD guys love the bike and as Warchild says there are tons of "farkels" :huh2: to do on the FJR.

It's been said many times on this forum and other places and I agree...There isn't a motorcycle made that has as much character as a Moto Guzzi :bier: !!!

I rode from Nashville to West Palm Fl last nov and had a flawless trip. We ran 90 and 100 the whole way down( i do have a val 1 with heads up display :ninja: ) and the bike never missed a beat. I got about 38 to 40 mpg and had a blast :race: ...

Hope that was what you were looking for :bier:

...naw, not....... the FJR

Thanks for the quick review, but honestly, the FJR does nothing for me :D

However, since you and I both have ridden FJs(not FJR).... and you've apparently still got one, I was curious how the FJ and LeMans fared back-to-back :)

It's been so long since I had my '89 FJ1200 now, that I was just curious about your long-term relationship with both bikes has cemented your opinion of how they compare and contrast.

Actually the older FJ's seem to me to be very similar in riding position. I could ride 5,6 700 mile days on the old FJ just as easy as the LeMans. To me, A new Guzzi will handle better than an old stock FJ. Remember 16" f & r rims, anti dive units that made the front brakes mushy  .....but about 15 to 20 more ponys than the Guzzi. And as mention in a previous post... before the Guzzi and FJR was my 85 FJ1100...which was feeling tired and out of shape. I fixed that. :luigi:

Buy the way ...shameless plug...

For sale 2003 FJR,2200miles, garage kept, throttle meisterand a few more extras 8500.00 I'm tired of walking around it in the garage and I'm not going to ride it -_-

What is a val 1 with heads up display? Sounds like I might need one! lol

Al is correct. Valentine One radar/laser :not: dtector. I also have the legal speeding LED in the helment/visor. Power the transmitter then the V1 and the little receiver in the helment flashes the LED at the same rate the dector is running.

Ya know, its the little things you get use to and the headsup display is one of them. I don't know how I got on without it :ninja:
