helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted February 20, 2005 Author Posted February 20, 2005 Correct. 1924 Terrot manufactured in France. Two down - one to go! Jaap can sort out the points on this one.
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted February 21, 2005 Author Posted February 21, 2005 A Zenith? 43852 No.
big J Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Wild stab in the dark- is it a McEvoy Anzani?
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted February 21, 2005 Author Posted February 21, 2005 Wild stab in the dark- is it a McEvoy Anzani? 43868 No but you are on the right track.
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted February 21, 2005 Author Posted February 21, 2005 You just wanted to see an Irishmans name on the forum! I wonder if there have ever been any Scottish motorcycles? A 250 Teuchter perhaps?
big J Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Youre an educated man, helicopterjim, there cant be many yanks could spell teuchter! Is that bike fitted with a blackburne engine?
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted February 21, 2005 Author Posted February 21, 2005 There is the Cyclaid but it only featured as a clip on motor for bicycles, built by British Salmson in Lanarkshire, Scotland from 1950 to 1956. Then there is the New Gerrard, founded around 1922 in Scotland by ex-racer Jock Porter. Made a single 346cc ohv JAP-engined machine throughout the 1930s, closed in 1940.

Is that bike fitted with a blackburne engine? 43873 Ah'm no a Yank, ye (this next part isn't nice to say - even to an Irishman)! I'm not from north of Hadrians Wall either but I have been there and to the Emerald Isle as well. I'm not sure if you are asking if the first bike in the quiz has a Blackburne engine or the Teuchter. The one in the quiz does not.
big J Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 So,its not a JAP, not a Zenith, not a Blackburne engine could it be a Cotton? Im running out of ideas here.
big J Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 No offence intended, just that Harrison Hot Springs sounded somewhat colonial
