sos yous guys, I got my bike out today I know it needs a bath but I had to. I ordered the new bosch relays from waytek just down the street from me. (really like 20mi) and I put them in just to look at my old ones. turns out the previous owner had already done that :homer: and my only problems with them must have been either 1) they vibrated loose :bike: 2) are starting to go out on thier own ;) . So now I'll just keep those older bosch incase I have a problem with my new ones down the road. BUT I also took some pics so ppl can see my nifty little k&n pods, my silly tank pad, gel grips, bar end weights and the nice little carbon buell flyscreen I picked up alls I need is the guzzi ti's and I'm done this summer, next summer the stucci. :thumbsup:

The Buell windscreen looks good.

BTW, I assume you just cut the "trumpet" or "flare" from the end of the intake runner in order to get the K&N over it eh?

I've thought about retrofitting my K&Ns, even though they incorporate their own "intake runner" to accomodate the stock intake/clamp, just because it would smooth the airflow a bit and provide for a more positive clamping surface to the TB... but I'd have to cut the "flare" off of the end, and I'm not sure how they'd fit, as my K&Ns are substantially larger(longer and in diameter) than the conical ones like you have posted.

yeah I used some very techincal instruments to make sure they were good and even, a large saw and my one good eye, then a wire brush to remove the debris. forgive me if it doesn't look the best outside of this circle, who's to know any better?

:huh2::bier:

you shouldn't have too much of a problem when I looked at your k&N's but you wouldn't be able to gain much distance maybe some stability so I wouldn't believe the ends would justify the means. I just had no choice.

I would have liked to but on my oo' external fuel pump hoopala they wouldn't fit unless I had longer tubes on the filters. Ah well I never planned to go back to stock anyway.  :huh2:

Interesting... they shoulda :P

I've seen countless 2001 and earlier bikes with the pods, just like yours, directly on the TBs. And Jaap's bike is a first year LeMans(well...was a LeMans ;) ) ... so he has all the external fuel stuff too.

It doesn't matter either way, and your solution is of course fine, but just an FYI :thumbsup:

ahh its from an older lightning? but I know a buell blast one works too I had a black blast one first but its not as wide or tall I Think. god I got it last fall I'm trying to think I know someone on this site has a link to getting one. For me with the Carbon fiber screen and the mounting brackets plus shipping total was $130. so still cheaper than anything I've seen. My K&N's are ru1200's and maybe my bike is unique for some freakin reason. Al could you tell me what that is in the way then? wtf mate? and something is more in way on the other side too in the exact same place yet a tiny bit farther back to be even more in the way. its like a shiney metal cylinder with wires coming out of it and was bugging me to find I couldn't just slap them on the throttle bodys. this side I could just barely fit the pod on. but I wasn't going to just modify one side it would look silly. and we all know this is about lookin kewl. :rasta:
