Is any one thinking of attending the 'FIRST ERIN RALLY' in Ireland

, specifically in the Creedon Hotel,Inchigeela near Cork.

June 10 - 12

I have by chance been to this hotel, and can remember (just! :bier: ) a very warm welcome.

details were in the MG club magazine 'Gambalunga' and further info available at www.creedonsinchgeela.com

Hi, I have not planned anything by now, and being in Dublin is not very far.

We could talk about it, the V11 is in Italy, but the always running California II is here in Dublin.

John O'Sullivan mentioned this so I have it in my diary. That doesn't mean that I can definitely go, but I definitely hope to possibly go, if I can...

There could be a meet up at the ferry port in Ireland. What crossing would anyone be taking?

It's Paul Smart's job to persuade Baldini to get on the ferry for a hop across the channel.

What about BigJ - Drogheda?

Might have to, but my decrepit bones appreciate a comfy bed nowadays. Still, plan to be there one way or another, any word from John O Sullivan? Cant find his e-mail address.

– they don't have the internet down Kerry way yet. The creedonsinchigeelajelly thing gives that away...

You'll have to wait 'til Jaap gets a letter from John and puts it on the site.

Oh you sad bastard, the internet was invented in Kerry by Al Gore :homer:

Unfortunately Creedons hotel is booked out for the weekend however I have a tent for you Dave :moon:

I will do my best to get nice accommodation in B&Bs (Bed & Breakfasts) in the area for anyone that wants it.

I will take a spin up there in the next week or so and get some phone numbers which I'll post here.

Theres a great road from Killarney to Ballyvourney :race: which gets me half the way and thereafter its rubbish, slow with a poor surface, in total its about 60 miles which is a nice run.

Rally Accommodation:

The camping facilities look good if the local football club provide their grounds, its 100 metres from the hotel and has toilets and showers, alternatively their is a picturesque riverside site with toilets only about 300 metres from the hotel, showers available at the hotel.

The international code for Ireland is +353 and omit the leading 0 from the 026.

Local Hotel: Lake Hotel 026-49010 (in the village)

Here are two local B&Bs:

Mrs. Cronin 026-49187 (1 mile from village)

Mrs. Forbes 026-42569 (2 miles from village)

Further afield:

Macroom is 11 Miles (17.5 Km) away.

Castle Hotel 026-41074 (Excellent)

Victoria Hotel 026-41082

Self Catering:

Mrs. Latour 026-47151

Hope this helps.

Well done – very helpful.

How far away from Dublin do you reckon this is, i.e. for people arriving off the ferry or meeting there, how long would it take to get to the meet site?
