The Guzzi is not my trackbike, I've got 2 other V-twins for that kind of fun :bike:

The forks are leaking, so that's the first job, then some new seals in the calipers, just to be safe and a normal oil/filter service. Riding in juni I hope.

Hi everyone,

I am now a new owner of a 2000 V11 sport.  It is actually the bike which was recently sold by forum member Velofish.  I have to say that I have been lurking on here for about two weeks now and there is such a wealth of information here!  I want to send out a thank you right away to all of you for posting all of it, I have already leaned a ton and will continue to read through all the FAQs and How Tos.

Velofish did a great job of performing and documenting the regular maintenance so she runs great which allows me to enjoy riding while working on 'quality of life improvements.' 

My first order of business on this beautiful machine is getting her gauges working. Currently the Speedo has the classic wobble and the Tach is non-functional.  Thanks to all of the posts here I have already been able to narrow down the Speedo wobble to either the speedo drive gear at the transmission end or a bend in the cable.  I will confirm which by the weekend.

A little warning that you might see a couple of old threads resurrected as I search through all the great past discussions for similar issues to what I am dealing with and posting either more questions or confirming that I was able to resolve the issue following what others have already done!

I have already got my Guzzidiag and TPS cables on order for the Decent Tune Up and am building a spreadsheet of all the other little parts and pieces will need as I plan to execute the Tank Off Maintenance Checklist later this year.

I've been lurking here for a few months so I figure I should go ahead and introduce myself. I have recently become the new owner of a 2003 V11 Le Mans. It has been owned since new by my father. it's spent the best part of the last 3 years in storage, but it is now time to get her registered and back on the road. 

Has anyone had any experiance with registering any Moto Guzzi in Maryland? The MVA (their version of the DMV) doesn't seem to have the brand in their system.

Having owned an Opel GT in both Ohio and California, I learned first hand DMVs aren't always in the know. My advice, register it as you're supposed to do, and let them figure out how to do it on their end.

Congrats on the new bike. Change those fluids and filters, add fresh gas and a battery and more than likely, you're on the road!

Thanks, I've done fresh gas and battery. Next bit of free time will be oil and brake fluid. 

I loved riding this bike years ago when it was new, hands down my favorite bike.

Ok, I have been here before. Looks like I cannot resist V11. I just bought a V11 Ballabio with 37.000km, started doing all maintenance work. After I adjusted the valves correctlythe engine runs smooth at low idle. My Ballabio ist equipped with Mistral cans - with db-eater. You do not want to get in trouble with German police.

Well, the Ballabio is my 4th Guzzi, I am riding a Griso 8V in Tenni-Look (was a black devil before conversion) with 1400ccm, a California Classic and the new Stelvio. Tomorrow we are heading to Mandello to spen some nice days at Lake Como - but I will go with the Stelvio instead of the Ballabio.

Sometimes I go on trackdays.I already booked three days in Chambley- with my new V11. I do not want to do this with the Griso... You may understand why...

Hello All !

Thank you for allowing my membership to this fine forum.  This is Steve Swan of Fort Collins, Colorado. Earlier this week, i purchased this 2002 Le Mans off ebay which i am hoping to have in my garage/shop by/before the end of August. It's possible some of you may recognize the bike...?

Through sheer will, a move into my new-to-me home March past, and tired of spending, my ebay activity had pretty much came to a standstill. Last week, i happened to be on ebay and Carlo Guzzi only knows what prompted me to type in "Moto Guzzi" and up pops this Le Mans and i go, "Hmmm..." and then i see all the goodies that come with it and i'm pretty sure i recognized the ebay name of the seller in my Wild Guzzi travels.  So, seller and i connect and i am the new owner. i feel like i got the deal of a lifetime! Now mind you, i need to sell my 2018 T120, no interest yet... But, hey! I am the happy owner of another V11!  i say another V11 because for several years i owned a delicious low mile Greenie that i sold around 4-5 years ago.  At the time becoming motorcycle poor (i still have 12 bikes, yes, i have an illness, my red blood cells are shaped like M's) and the Greenie sitting more than being ridden, i sold it. Had an '09 CalVin i bought new, putting miles on it and at the time thinking it would be nice to have a Lemans instead of the CalVin but soon realized finding the luggage i wanted for (at that time) a more than 15 year old bike would be difficult. So, the Greenie went away. Back to last week, before i found this Le Mans, i have been a T120 owner for a year, having sold my CalVin July, 2023 and even though i never had a truly deep connection with the CalVin, i missed it because we'd had a lot of great memories together.

So, here we are now, i am so happy and looking forward to having a V11 again that's a Le Mans and with all the goodies that come with it!  I'm looking forward to becoming familiar with the forum and getting to know fellow members!  Would love to hear from any nearby members in my area!

Thanks for the welcome! I've always done my own mechanical work on bikes i own and love ground up restoration work on different bikes spanning 10 decades.
