al_roethlisberger Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 They did mention that the engine number on my engine is hand engraved and not stamped. They thought this was abnormal. Anyone know if this is the case? They were going to call moto international and find out what the deal is with this bike. I'll keep you updated on what they find. Burke 50422[/snapback] A theory.... Usually the "hand engraved" or blank serial number engines are ones where the cases were swapped for the paint recall. If you have one of the models that have the "fuzzy" black textured engine paint, and the case was replaced by MG, the replacement warrantee cases came with the serial number plate blank. Some shops manually etched in the old serial number, while most are left blank. al
