antonio carroccio Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 It looks like this forum gets more and more Americanized. No problem with that, also because the European guys do not choose to translate their idea, opinion, suggestion or jokes. A lot of Europeans are also English native people, like the British one. But also this folks does not appear in this forum like a year or two ago. Anyway, I still look on this forum the crap you guys notice and sometime I share it with you. Carry on…!

helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Take off, you hosers!!! Antonio! It will only become more American without people like you contributing! I prefer to think of this site as a viscious collection of individuals, not a cultural entity of one countries making! At least it is not becoming Germanized!
al_roethlisberger Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Did you write that, Al?I like this song(freakin' Canucks!): by: Guess Who American Woman ============================ 51394 ....naw, it's Rage Against the Machine And BTW, I had(have) the Guess Who on Reel-to-Reel when I was a kid.... "Share the Land" dude al
al_roethlisberger Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Al, I never figured you for a RATM fan. 51398 ....yeah, no more RATM, it's all about "Audioslave" now with pretty-boy Chris Cornell lilting about heh heh, naw I like AS ok, about as much as I liked Soundgarden... which is all AS really now is, Soundgarden II It's like as if Steve Perry went and joined another band... it would be Journey II. I don't care who was left behind in the "real" Journey, as the "sound" of Journey was... well... Steve Perry *sigh* I was like *there* man.... when Kim Thayil turned 30, back in '91.... knee deep in the mud of New Orleans. Man, he was like... "old" and stuff Ministry and TRHCP rocked that show too ...reminds me of the time I crashed a Butthole Surfer concert there as well, and some girl said I looked like Gibby(not sure if that is a good thing or not). Maybe it was the purple hair ...and my friends with the mohawks and dreds Ahh, good times, good times. al

It's possible that the Euro centric jokes don't get posted here much because Americans - just - don't - get - them. I sure do enjoy the travelogs and picture posting of the Euro set though because that continent is pretty intense for things to do, places go and people to meet whereas the USA and Canada are stretched out across a fairly large area and things of interest tend to be much further apart as a result.
Paul Minnaert Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Al, you went to a buthole surfers gig?? I worked 10 years in a club, and we had them more than once. I liked them.
DeBenGuzzi Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 At least it is not becoming Germanized! 51396 If it was becoming Germanized I'd be gone those whack jobs are so out there, Nah they're Alright Any country that can Make that much suasage must be alright? no? I'll just never understand the David hasselhoff thing they have going. Lets not bring that thread back up either it should stayed buried.
DeBenGuzzi Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 51417 F*CK YEAH! Hits stores May 19th I believe, I'm going to be first in line. Booh yeah.
al_roethlisberger Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Al, you went to a buthole surfers gig?? I worked 10 years in a club, and we had them more than once. I liked them. 51409 ...yeah, at the State Theater in New Orleans back in... ohhh 92 ish?? ... double booked with Stone Temple Pilots, and some other not-so-well-knowns opening. I had to get creative to get in to the floor by the stage.. ah hem Aaaaanyway, yeah, myself and a bunch of friends were staying at some cheapo hotel that apparently Scott Weiland and the rest of STP were also staying at... along with various groupies. And while my crowd was checking in, we were approached by said groupies, and some apparently thought I looked enough like Gibbey Haines(sp?) to strike up a conversation, and wanted me to say "hi to Scott" for her. Pretty funny. In hindsight, we really should have "capitalized" on that little example of mistaken identity It was a fun gig, although GWAR a couple years later was more entertaining in some obvious ways al
Guzzirider Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 I went to see Green Day in Manchester in January and they did not seem to be fans of things becoming Americanised! I personally think in the main we have a good balance of opinions from different countries on this forum- obviously there are loads of Yanks about so there will be plenty of posts from the USA but I see quite a few posts from Canada, Britain, the Netherlands, Scandinavia and France. Alex flies the flag for Greece too. Not many though from Italy, Germany, Belgium, Spain etc though- the fact that English is the spoken language on this forum may play a part in this. Guy
