alfaguzzi
What are they talking about on www.guzzisti.it/guzzisti_home.htm ? Is this something for our bikes?
al_roethlisberger
Well, here are the sorta "Eng-talian" translations of the pages: EPROMS Part 1 EPROMS Part 2 I'm guessing that this is just a general "chipping" article. It seems very high-level, and even talks about liability issues. It doesn't seem very technical. ...bottom line, I'm not 100% sure about these articles. But AFAIK we can't "chip" our ECUs. There is software out there, and software coming, to re-flash the flash on our ECU for new maps, and in the future... timing as well(hoo-ray!). But I don't think we have socketed flash or EPROMs on in our V11 ECUs. I could be mistaken though. al
callison
Nothing mechanically replaceable or socketed. You have that correct. As a by note. I have a Cliff Jeffries unit (My16M) due here in a week or two for the Sport 1100i. I plan to go the O2 sensor closed-loop route with that one. If that works well, I may do likewise on the V11. I have to get the Bugswatter running first. Torn intake boot, plugged idle passages (56,000+ miles of particulate matter intrusion past the air filter) and so forth.
