Rear wheel removal

You will need to take both bolts out of the rear driveshaft coupler. The bolts keep the joint from sliding off if they loosen. The rear joint fits tight on the pinion shaft and you will have to find a suitable object to tap the broken splined piece out of the driveshaft coupler. Remember to realign the marks on the drive shaft if they are seperated.

Oh the old broken pinion part came out plenty easy enough. Its just getting the new one in all the way. Like you said I need to completely remove the screws to do it. Its an odd thing that it will go in halfway but wont go the rest of the way in, with the screws in that is. I had it in all the way earlier but then the screws wouldnt start & I needed to retap the threads as one was bad from the start, probably from the damage that broke the pinion. I'll get on it early tomorrow morning as I would like to ride to the rally :race:
