Hi again,

They hauled the engine out and fixed the broken pawl spring as far as I recall. And yes, it was a bloody long trip. The "funny" part was when I had to pay at the toll booth - I was reving for Denmark in order to pull away :P

Hi Søren

It's very strange. :huh2:

All that is needed to change the pawl spring is to take out a few allen bolts and remove a cover.

Parts can be mis-aligned when putting this back and it sounds like that is what happened with your bike, resulting in them having to take it apart again.

Did they charge you for taking the whole engine out??? :o

At least it's all fixed now and running like a train! :bier:

Do you know if they fitted the new, revised spring with a bigger coil, or perhaps changed both the spring and pawl arm? If they didn't, and fitted an older 'normal' spring that they had lying in stock, watch out because it will break again. :(

Hi Belfastguzzi,

I assume they used the new spring but I'm not sure whether they changed the pawl and the pawl arm (as we all know assumptions is the mother of all @#!#$# ups :P ).

I was at my new dealer today, FA Motosport here in Copenhagen so they could have a look at the engine regarding the oil leak. FA Motorsport is now the new authorized Guzzi garage, so I'll have all future maintenance jobs done there. It turned ot that the mechanic just needed to change the oil switch and even better he did it on the spot free of charge. My dealer will get reimbursed by the DK importer as it turned out that the engine was poorly assembled by them. Phew..... I really feared that they had to send the Scura across the country once again so it has been a good day :drink:

All warranty jobs have been free of charge. The only flip side has been the lack of wheels in the meantime.

Best regards

Søren
