Tranny Recall is Done!

I called the dealer today and was informed that the tranny recall work is complete, and I can pick the bike up tomorrow morning (Saturday 8th).

 

Here's hoping it's as good as it was before!

Bad news on the rumour-mill, Noggin. I hear there's been another batch of oversized parts supplied and some have been inadvertently fitted during recall work. Easily done, I suppose.

Oh, no fer gawds sake dont, I bet he wont sleep a wink tonight. Nogbad, I bet it will be the best shifting bike ever made by the hand of man. Well, no worse than it was before. Maybe a wee bit reluctant sometimes. It's new parts,and third gear was always stiff anyway. Those extra neutrals will improve your shifting technique. Buy some steel toecap boots. And shares in Slick 50.And a C90, just in case. And the AA. Look up "Gear Cutters" in the phone book and eep the number handy, you never know. But I bet it's fine.

well, they said that the Y2K bike

was done "because it could be", so, now that it's done, I suppose it's time to move onto a new challenge. Why not that lovely big 12 cylinder? Someone should whisper in Honda's big corporate ear.

1. It's oil tight.

 

2. There are no scratches or dings on it anywhere.

 

3. It shifts perfectly. Not much change, but if anything it's a bit better than before.

1. Of course it's not leaking, they probably didn't put any oil in it.

2. The fresh polyfilla hasn't shrunk and started falling out yet.

3. No oil to slow things down, but just wait...

1. I can see clean oil in there.

2. They used silicone, there's a little bead of it on the joints.

Time will tell. It's the 500 miles a week season so when do you reckon it will let me down then?

 

On Yer Bike at Aylesbury have delivered good service. What's more, I asked if I owed anything for oil or sundries and they said not. Nada, nothing, no charge at all.
