big J Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 Innit funny, cars I would have never looked at when I was young, nowadays some of them are ok. VW Beetle? Ten years ago, I'd have laughed, now I think they're great. Slow, funny wee cars, but after working on a few, I came to appreciate Porsche's clever engineering.BTW, if you fit a Subaru Impreza turbo, you can scare the hell out of boy racers in a ratty old bug.Does some amount of gearboxes in,tho(5 at last count)
staedtler Posted July 25, 2005 Author Posted July 25, 2005 Wait'll you're old as I am. 56662 i don't know about that... are you from the 70's?
todd haven Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 If the Monte Carlo SS tickles your fancy, there are probably good deals to be had on a "Smokey and the Bandit" Trans Am.
dlaing Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 "Smokey and the Bandit" Trans Am. 56721 In case you haven't heard, General Lee is back!!! Notice that probably in the interest of being PC, they took the swastika, I mean the confed flag, off the car. But they still play Dixie, and yell, Yeeeeee Hah! I wonder if they still call the car General Lee.
staedtler Posted July 25, 2005 Author Posted July 25, 2005 Mhmmm Jessica... baby.... Btw,...Wayne Shepherd's has the flag on it... ohh Yeah...(not as stealthy as the Grand National) all these cars are overexposed, media saturated, everybody either knows them or want one... i like the; "hey, what is that driving down the street?" idea...
jrt Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 '60s And damn, the trans am is the nadir of American design. I guess I do like 'hello kitty' kind of cars rather than the vader-style. I wan't muscle in a bike, not a car. With a few exeptions, cars are appliances, and my Prius has been getting 46 mpg lately- better than the Sport. J
gthyni Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 Who needs a truck? This is a how a swedish amateur race driver drove from Stockholm to Mo i Rana and back (1200 kms one way) The bike is a Yamaha R6 (with front wheel removed) the car is a VW Polo
dlaing Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 That would be UGLY in an accident. But cool! now I don't have to trade in my Toyota Matrix, just pull the front wheel and front passenger seat....and maybe the fuel tank....But boy it would be heavy.

A Matrix is a big car compare to a VW Polo (not sold in the US), but a V11 is larger then an R6 too. Have to post a picture of his old van:
