RacerX Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Guys, this should be an outstanding event. We are pulling the TonUp-SD.com 'Mods-vs-Rockers' folks into the mix. Hope a large handful of those on the West Coast US reading this forum will be there... infact, as per the First Annual SoCal Guzzi Rally... No Dam Excuses. All details here; http://www.phpbbforfree.com/forums/socalguzzi-about391.html
RacerX Posted July 26, 2005 Author Posted July 26, 2005 I linked the Rally registration form (PDF file) to the link above. If you guys could print/hang/distribute to any shops on the West Coast, would be appreciated. Anyone here going? No comments yet. Volunteers? We'll take all the help we can get.

RacerX Posted August 26, 2005 Author Posted August 26, 2005 I may be up for volunteerin'... too early to commit, but looking forward to it! Great Poster! Thanks David, let us know direct on the SoCal board please... and only took me about 5 hours for the poster, so thanks there as well.
RacerX Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 Less then two weeks out for the pre-registration discount. Any one else besides David going from here?
Guzzirider Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 You have Mods and Rockers in the USA? Thought it was just a British thing! My Dad was a rocker. Guy

Guy 61273 These are the Rockers: and these must be the Mods: Except, Vespas aren't fast enough for Freeway Survival, so they ride Guzzis. Or maybe these are the real Mods: I suspect many from all three groups will be there!
Mike Stewart Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 Todd, Not sure if I can make it or not. I fractured my pelvic last week, I will know more tomorrow after the cat scan. I know I won't be able to ride, I may drive down. It all depends on how much pain I am having in the next few weeks and how well I can walk. Mike
dlaing Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 I am glad to hear you are even contemplating going! Good luck with that CAT Scan.
dlaing Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Drat! I was too late for the early registration! So, just a reminder, it is $35 now, and it will be $40 a the door. Register now, to help them plan!!!
daveco2 Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Any recommendations on bike friendly motels close by? Thanks, Dave
dlaing Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 I am not sure what is biker friendly out there. Nor do I know anyone who has stayed anywhere. http://usa-lodging.com/motels/califs/Escondido.htm Bring a bike lock to any of the cheap places... But I would prefer La Estancia Inn. It is a charming roadside inn in Fallbrook, that has a nice Italian restaurant and is on a noisy enough of a road that motor bikes should not be a problem. I have no idea of the price, but it looks 3 diamond. I'd pay up to $100 to stay there, otherwise go for something cheaper. http://www.laestanciainn.com/ For High Rollers, the four diamond Pala Casino hotel runs nearly $200 per night. I am sure they welcome biker trash, but I would not use their valet service http://www.palacasino.com/ Or for geezers who love soap bubbles and nostalgia for big band muzak, you'll be disappointed by http://www.welkresort.com/sandiego/ probably good for rich golfers though...and motorcycles may be taboo. ...about $180+ per night...
Mike Stewart Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 I am glad to hear you are even contemplating going!Good luck with that CAT Scan. 61382 Well, with much debate, it looks like going to the rally is not the best thing I can do for my healing pelvis. The drive would be fine, but dealing with a wheel chair may be difficult. A talk with my Chiropractor yesterday killed my hopes of trying to go. Have fun guys, wish I could be there, Mike (and please keep the rubber side down)
RacerX Posted October 14, 2005 Author Posted October 14, 2005 Damn Mike, sorry to hear this. Speedy healing, and hope you can get back on the bike soon. Last call folks, per David's message... last minute arrivals KILLS us on things like food and beverage planning. All details for hotels, etc. are linked from the very first post above. Look forward to seeing a big handful of you next weekend.

Also trying to find anyone going down in a car... ah, to carry my camping junk. I hate to addmit it, but my v11 isn't set up at all for touring/ bags. Leans toiwards the Rocker side, must be the roots! Now I'm commetted to camping, but if everyones going the hotel route, I have no problem with room service and hot showers. Let me know?? I registered early, and got a confirm from Todd via email, but do we need anything else, or is there some kind of list? Peace and rubber side down, jedione68 P.S. David, getting the Quad rewelded and adding some springs and mounts, should be done today or Monday.
