Guest Bruce Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 I run a stock air box due to the intake noise so you might want to check that first as it can be really loud. Back firing on decel can be caused by an air leak at an intake boot and if this is the case the balance is probably way out. This happened on my bike. Give a careful look for cracks or splits. As far as vibration is concerned at an indicated 85-90mph in 6th my bike is glassy smooth w/ 10k on it, like an RT for example. Pro Grip makes a Rally grip ( #714 ) which is suppose to be the hot set up on big nasty thumpers for vibration. I tried a set on the goose and it seemed to isolate a little high freq buzz which made my hand go numb a couple times. The added panache is worth the ten bucks. A couple other things. You probably all ready considered wheel balance. The other thing is it's a shaft drive with grease fittings which are difficult to access. If they weren't properly serivced one of those could be packin' it in. Chances are the primary cause is pretty simple.
