Guest jedione68 Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Hey Guzzi, Sorry to hear about your mis-hap. It all ways sucks to tear up our riggs, exspecailly when soooooo new. I went through all the advice replies and I pretty much agree with ever ones advise, exspecailly about the frame. But, always right... but I didn't see your replie on Insurance and or taking it to a dealer. I love fixing/customizing my own bikes so I really like your energy on wanting to jump in and fix it. But from the photo's I saw of your bike, bent frame or not, your talking about alot of parts, which always means time and a lot of money. And this advise comes if you have Insurance. Take your baby to a Guzzi dealer, let them and or the insurance company give you a damage and cost report. Even if you want to do the work your self at least your insurance will pay for it (As in VERY $$$$$ parts), heck, maybe they'll right the bike off, cut you a check and you can buy her back cheap and have a project for the winter. Don't get me wrong, but thats what we have Insurance for and atleast you could save atleast a few grand. Good luck and keep me posted. Double check that engine mount/case too. Peace and rubber side down. JEDIONE68

Peace and rubber side down. JEDIONE68 60659 I just did a total for my bent frame project and not including the broken front engine cover and cracked transmission cases, it ran about $1600 (minimum) to get it on the road before I discovered the broken cases all over the place. Add in the cracked engine stuff and you can add another $1000. Except for the engine case parts, ALL of my purchases were through eBay, Guzzi Reboot Spares and my local Ducati/Buell dealer and except for the Ducati dealer parts ($60), everything was used and as dirt cheap as I could make it. The dealer did do a repair cost estimate and their estimate was more than $4000 - and they missed the bent frame entirely. I truly wish I had taken the insurance money and run, but I kept the bike. So, do what JEDIONE68 says and get a proffessional estimate done before you embark on any rebuild project. You need to do so to get your mind around what you're going to do. I didn't even throw in the cost of a stock silver front fender from MGNA, but that was another $335. Add to all of that the parts I damaged inadvertently (a sideplate), paint, shipping costs for parts (which I didn't list) and a host of other small items, the total is closer to $4000 - and it isn't even street-legal yet. Believe me, I should have just gone out and bought a LeMans or something. Get that estimate done first. Then decide.
badmotogoozer Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 if Luigi lubed it at the factory to keep the moisture off the rollers. 60654 not bloody likely. Luigi doesn't like to get grease on his hands. Rj
