Guest anawrocki Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 OK, I have scoured both the owners manual and the service manual for my 2004 v11 Ballabio and it does not state whether to check oil with the bike on side stand or level (put on a stand or have somone sit on it for you). Does anyone know the answer to this question? I tried it upright and it seemed that it may have overfilled a bit because I got a bit of smoke next start-up. However I don't want to run low either.
Martin Barrett Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Up right and fully screwed in, can't see it being any different from all the rest
Guzzirider Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Don't worry about it being slightly overfilled- I always put 4 litres in rather than the prescribed 3.5 as per my dealer recommendation. Been doing this for several years with no problems. Guy
al_roethlisberger Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Yep, upright.... AS IF you had a center stand Or you can do like some have done and figure out what the level on the dipstick should be if over on the side stand, and mark it accordingly al
