Steve G. Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 I sometimes check the I.O.M. web cam which is located [i think I remember] at the southern roundabout of the promonade. I just checked it a minute ago [11:10am pacific time, Saturday] which is 19:10 hrs, 7:10pm Saturday, and it's raining like crazy. It always seems to be raining, or foggy. Is there a dryer section of the island? How do you guys who live there get a chance to ride? Or do you just put the rain gear on? When I rode to the TT in 1994, it rained but once, the rest of the time the weather was glorious, if cool. I thought it rained alot where I lived, but we at least get our summer drought fo 4 1/2 months during riding season. Ciao, Steve G.

Check for posts like, 'help I've got a rusty axle' and 'help, I've got a rusty roller bearing'. When I rode to the TT...60531 What?! From Canada?! Did you have one of those special Pete Roper riding suits? (Certain people won't get that 'cause they don't pay attention to important posts on here.) Bet your axle was rusty by the time you reached the I.O.M. Next time you try that, please do surface in Belfast Lough and drop in for a delicious slice of carrot cake, before proceeding to the final destination. It could be your last good meal for a while, as I think they only eat cats on the Isle of Man.

Thiugh they're more eccologicaly sound than the bison tounge hunters and shark fin fishermen, they throw them back. I'm not sure if they expect them to grow back
belfastguzzi Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Nobody's stated the obvious yet. Why would anyone watch a webcam of the Isle of Man! I've got Lighthouses of the USA (Widget) on my desktop (Dashboard) and I thought that was sad. Here's Goat Island, Maine and here's Cape Hatteras. They look like the Isle of Man to me.

Actually I check it out during TT forthnight, watching all the knuckle draggers doing crazy things at 3:00am, which is 9:00pm here. Ciao, Steve G.
Guest cliffy Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 It doesn't allways rain here on the island infact we have had hardly any rain this year ! which means great biking But if you come to the isle of man? just remember the north of the island is generally the sunniest ( though some here would not agree!!). The only problem when it rains is that it is usually horizontal with the wind ! But hey we all take bath's n showers !.I don't mind using my bike in the wet, it's good experience infact i keep more on top of keeping it clean than when i leave it unused in the garage!! So ride safe cheers !.
Guest Nogbad Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 So, are you going to post a link to this famed IoM Webcam?

Guest Nogbad Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 This would seem to be the one 60610 Hmmm... It isn't raining. Are you sure this is the right one?

Guest Nogbad Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Roads look wet. Must have just stopped 60617 Yep, OK. Now it's dark you can see how wet it is...
Guest Steve_W Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Weather check, 19 September: Yup, it's raining. Unrelated: I watched it refresh a couple of times. It took a pedestrian that long to walk from the middle of the frame to the bottom. No wonder people invented motorized transportation machines. Takes too damn long to walk anywhere!
