looking for more effective head guards

I'll have to remember that!  :bier:

1. don't go to fast

2. don't do anything stupid

3. when sh^t happens, and it will, do the right thing

4. I think the most important thing about not crashing is will power...a no fear attitude helps.

5. I suppose $1000 mufflers, $500 clip-ons and gold plated valve covers (Bling!) with no crash guards, wearing only flip-flops, speedo, and wife-beater shirt,  could be a good incentive not to crash :D

Yes I had a similar set as standard fitment on my S3...Actually, I rather think I still have them.

It always concerned me that if they were used in anger, they might well trash the frame?

The weak point on the Sport crash bars is the upper mount- they use the same bolts as the radiator.

I've crashed my other bikes with crash bars and always seem to come out ok- I surfed my G5 into a bar ditch at 50-70 mph one time- literally crouched on top of it. I busted the headlight and bent both rims, but the bike was fine. :P Gawd, I was a reckless kid.

Ive read that the stock head guards on my 2002 v 11 wont protect very well if I drop the bike. anyone know where I can find larger,or better designed head guards at a decent price in the USA? thanks! :mg:

Yo,

I really liked the J Kenny ones too, but I don't know anything

about them. I went with the ones from Sport Cycle Pacific in

Santa Barbara (805) 966 6508 ask for Dave. They look great.

They stick out farther and are at least a 1/3 thicker. And not

expensive. I think the web site was: sportcyclepacific.com

Peace, rubberside down

P.S. I think "dlaing" is on to some thing here. Kind of a Cali

alturnitive to those expensive Ghezzi-Brian green ones.

The Joe Kenny ones are prettier, but the SCP ones look beefier and look like they will protect more, BTW I dig those black rocker covers!

I completely agree. The JK look the stuff, but the ones from SCP have that...

I could slide these for a 100 feet or so meat. And that's what got me.

Know if we we're talking the 4 Valve crash guards, I'd have to say that the

J kenny's look the best and seem to be the beefer 4 valve crash guard yet.

Special note to BIGBIKERRICK: I couldn't resist when I found those covers.

I think I've been looking for those my whole life: GUZZI dam straight,

its not a Ducati! (and I like Ducks too, but god dam, look at the engine 1st kid)

Peace,
